Who we are ...

We are people in work and people in school.
We are people who are retired and people looking for work.
We are people who live alone and people who live with others.
We are people of great faith and people of little faith.
We are people just starting in life with lots to learn and people with experience and still something to learn.
We are people in health and happiness and people with difficulties and problems.

We are people whose ordinary lives have been touched by the extraordinary love of God.

Christ Church Baptist is not easy to pigeon-hole.  We are a mixed group of people who are having fun together while we take our faith in Jesus seriously.  We are not all Baptists and you don’t have to be a Christian to join in.

There are lots of ways that all sorts of people engage with Christ Church and you can find out something about of them on this website.

Many people enjoy a cup of coffee and chat in our bookshop.  Some make use of the First Steps Toddler group.  Others join a course like Alpha.

At the centre of it all is another person.  Our Sunday gatherings focus our community life on God as revealed most fully in Jesus.  Not everyone associated with Christ Church is part of our Sunday meetings but our Sunday meetings are the heart of all our activity.

We believe that knowing God has a transforming effect in people’s lives and so we want to grow in our faith as disciples of Jesus, we want to use that faith to make a difference in the world and we want share that faith with others so that they too have the chance to find new life through Jesus Christ.
