Deacons

Leadership in Baptist Churches is shared, local and based on the biblical model of servant leadership. We have a minister, trained and accredited as such and deacons who are mature Christians recognised by the church. Both 'minister' and 'deacon' are words which have their roots in bible words for 'servant'.

The minister and deacons are accountable to the whole church membership through church meetings held bi-monthly. These meetings are where we try to discern the will of God for us as a church with all members playing their part.

The church meeting also recognises and appoints people to lead in various areas of the church and all such leaders are accountable to and supported by the church through the church meeting.
